As much of the American Southeast is still reeling from the devastation brought on by Hurricane Helene, another is barreling across the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico.
Not only is the fact that Hurricane Milton comes on the heels of another storm noteworthy, but the sheer magnitude of this one is insane.
Recently, it was dropped from a category 5 to a category 4, but mandatory evacuations are in place for many cities in Florida and it is still considered by the National Hurricane Center to be “extremely dangerous.”
When it was a category 5, veteran Miami meteorologist John Morales was brought to tears while reporting on the expected outcomes.
Our hearts go out to all those already affected by Helene and those who are either trying to escape Milton or those who have to stay.
