April’s Book to Film selection remembers the remarkable life of world-renowned mathematician, physicist, cosmologist and author Stephen Hawking. View “The Theory of Everything” on Friday, April 13, from 6:30 to 8:35 p.m. upstairs at the downtown library (610 Quincy Street). This 2014 Oscar-nominated biographical film stars Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne, who won an Academy Award for Best Actor. Based on the memoir “Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen” by Jane Hawking, the film explores Hawking’s early years at Cambridge where he met and fell in love with a liberal arts student shortly before being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) at age 21.
Popcorn and beverages will be served. Rated PG-13.
