Join legendary filmmaker Agnès Varda and J.R. on the road trip of a lifetime. “Faces Places” was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature and is the winner of multiple film critic awards. View it on our big screen Friday, April 6 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the downtown library (610 Quincy Street, upstairs).
Agnès Varda and J.R. travel the French countryside in a box truck specially equipped as a mobile photo booth and printing facility. Their love of the country and its residents is evident in their large-scale public art installations. Separated in age by more than half a century, the film is also a chronicle of their shared vision and unlikely friendship.
